Stephen Bennett's Update - The truth about P-town

Stephen has posted an initial post on his website about what really happened at the P-town outreach last Saturday. Please visit and read the whole report - READ

Here are a few snippets from that report.

*** "Over 100 evangelists from all across the country joined SBM this past Saturday, August 7, 2004 in Provincetown, MA to reach the homosexual for Jesus Christ! Many churches and organizations from around the country were represented, including Jews for Jesus and Campus Crusade for Christ. "

*** "Over 700 evangelistic gift bags for homosexuals were given out and many of the children's gift bags by the time we left at 5 pm."

*** "However, a reported "false" press release supposedly issued by SBM -- said SBM was going to P-Town to "... save the children from their homosexual parents…" This is absolutely a flat out LIE. SBM would never say anything of the sort."

*** "Secondly, a group of extreme militant, angry "gay" and lesbian activists -- the ones who continually DEMAND America's tolerance, acceptance and equality regarding their sexual behavior and lifestyles -- were the most hate-filled, vulgar, vile liars we encountered the entire day. Yet we know this is part of the mission field – and no one is out of the reach of the love of God."

*** "However, guess where these "loving, tolerant and diverse" people demanding equality – those who say they take a stand against hatred and bigotry -- returned the SBM gifts bags... INTO THE GARBAGE CANS ALL OVER TOWN.An estimated 200 gift bags containing Bibles, CDs, tracts, pens -- and even the little children's gift bags of toys -- were recovered OUT OF THE TRASH by SBM. How wicked -- but then, again I know – as a former homosexual who once LIVED IN PROVINCETOWN – I used to be in their shoes and was just as lost, hateful and rebellious as these activists were. Lying and deception were always part of the agenda."

*** "So much for "TOLERANCE and ACCEPTANCE." DO NOT BE DECEIVED - What these "gay" activists REALLY are demanding of America is not "equality" -- but CONTROL. It’s so very clear: it is THEIR WAY OR NO WAY"

Let us remember those who are struggling with same-sex attraction in our prayers. God can and will deliver anyone who trusts in Him completely!

None of these people are doing Gods work. None of these people are witnessing for Jesus Christ. It's all for selfish reasons.. some kind of judgemental, self-rightousness that somehow makes them feel like they are standing up for the Lord. You guys are obsessed with homosexuals.

Is this same group descending into communities where people are taking the God's name in vain? What about people who don't honor their parents? Do they get a gift bag as well? I was thought my neighbors wife was really cute.. should I expect a knock on my door?

How about teaching someone about Jesus by being an example as opposed to telling them how wrong they are for not seeing your point of view?

Yeah anon, recovered homosexuals handing out bibles and sharing the good news of how they were saved from sexual bondage is surely not "doing Gods work".

They gotta be working for Satan himself, right? Unlike the kind and grateful souls who tossed their bibles in the trash...

Smile and nod, that's what I do. :-)

Stacy, did I ever tell you WHY I feel the way I do, beyond being just young and stupid?
