Could it be true? Fahrenheit 9/11 DVD Delay?

This from Michael at America Blog

Here's the latest from Michael Moore himself in a conference call Sunday morning, as reported in Variety.

"Moore also backed away slightly from his earlier intention to release "Fahrenheit" on DVD in time for the election. Sony's homevid unit is close to a distrib deal (Daily Variety, July 7), but Moore said Sunday that Lions Gate and IFC now say they envision playing the movie "through the end of the year and possibly into the next year," suggesting a DVD won't be released until after the pic finishes its theatrical run.

My thought - Who really cares! It's not like this movie is going to sway any thinking person to vote any differently. It's already been proven to be a total lie and all you have to do is log on to google and type in the key words to find that.

Now the Passion of the Christ on the other hand, is already making big bucks in pre-sale orders.

The reason for Moore to want to get the movie released on DVD before the election is sales. His movie is only garnering as much attention as it is right now because the outcome of the election is unknown. People are tense and energized to try to influence the outcome of the contest.

On the morning after the election no one will care at all any more about F9/11. This is especially true is Kerry wins. His victory would take all the steam out of the rage Moore has parlayed into a fortune for himself.

You make a great point. If Kerry wins, which is really doubtful, Moore's sales might not be as great. On the other hand, real hard core Dems, might want it as a piece of history to say that was why Kerry won.
